Wet blasting

After battling to remove the factory paint finish with paint stripper, I decided to get the parts wet (vapour) blasted to remove the underlying corrosion on both the die cast aluminium covers as well as the pressed steel base plate and flywheel : Lots of pitting in the aluminium die cast covers. This will be filled in prior to painting

The stripping has begun !!! The factory coating has proved quite difficult to remove. Three separate applications of methylene chloride based paint stripper later and this is the result :

YAMAHA EF600 - Original Condition

Yamaha EF600 Generator Restoration I have recently acquired a nice old Yamaha EF600 generator that is in fairly decent mechanical condition. It does not seem to have seen much use and still starts up on the first pull. This will be a purely cosmetic restoration to bring it back to its original condition as far as possible. Some photos and a video of the generator as recieved : As you can see the exterior is in need of a nice paint job. Along with new decals and maybe a few NOS parts we should have this generator looking shiny and new once again.
