Wet blasting

 After battling to remove the factory paint finish with paint stripper, I decided to get the parts wet (vapour) blasted to remove the underlying corrosion on both the die cast aluminium covers as well as the pressed steel base plate and flywheel :  

 

Lots of pitting in the aluminium die cast covers. This will be filled in prior to painting
